Year of Establishment:
The Department Was established in 1973 as a part of Saurashtra University. In 1979 it came under Bhavnagar University. The Department Was housed in the premises of sir P.P. Institute of Science until 1985 when it shifted to the present building of its own.

    Achievements :

    The Department has about sixty research papers published in national as well as international journals. The Department has organized six conference/ winter school/research seminar two at national level. In addition to the grant from the university, the Department has been getting Library grant (Which is Rs. 2.5 lacs at present) from NBHM since 1994.

    This Department runs the PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications) self financed course since 1998. This PGDCA Course is very useful to the graduate students from any discipline. They can easily be placed in the secondary, Higher Secondary School, colleges and in Organization. Several students have started their own businesses for Designing, Accounting and Software development.
